Raising your Money Consciousness™
                                          Introduction
                                                     By Kasey Claytor

I have been intrigued by the theories of different scholars, great thinkers and philosophers of our
time on the subject of consciousness and the evolution of society.
My favorite past time has been to read and apply those theories that would raise my awareness
about human nature and life in general. My career for the last quarter of a century has been to
create wealth for people. After a few years of reading and pondering the works of people like Dr.
David Hawkins (Levels of Human Consciousness), Dr. Don Beck (Spiral Dynamics) and Ken
Wilbur (Integral Psychology) it dawned on me one day, in a quantum leap of understanding, that
money consciousness could be measured on a scale, just like any other ‘evolutionary’
behavior/thought. And this scale would be helpful to people who want to increase their financial
success; they could see where they are now and what their next step would be. Most people want
to be successful, have more money, but aren't’t sure how to get there. I could develop a map for
them. Anyone can find what level they are presently on; hence easily know what the next step is.
No matter where you find yourself on the Map of Money Consciousness ™, or what your life
situation is, you can raise yourself up to where you want to be, where you dream of being.
Know that every step on the map is important; that the knowledge you gain from each level you
pass through builds a foundation upon which to launch yourself to the next level. So, where you
are right now, in this very moment, is exactly perfect for you. This is where you are supposed to
be—everything that has happened in the past, where you came from and everything that you have
ever thought—has landed you right here. It is from here that you can begin.
We so often look way, way out on the horizon and declare—I want to be over there! With
excitement we motivate ourselves to action. It seems, after so much action, that the goal is still
too far off, too unattainable. Our doubts being to creep in, attacking our original enthusiasm,
leaving us daunted and overwhelmed with the enormous gulf between where we are now and
where we’d like to be. How do we get there? There is no map. We hear how other people do it, but
there are as many opinions on the hows as there are people telling us. And, if we really examine
our goals, we don’t want just money, we want to be happy. We want to feel fulfilled, purposeful,
secure, and free from despair.
This ‘Map’ is a distillation of my knowledge and experience gleaned from  working with people
from all different backgrounds, watching their successes and failures, coaching them into a new
understanding of what a wealth consciousness is and helping them see the roadblocks that they
themselves throw in their paths. Showing them that where they are now is OK; they can already
see how far they have come, and they begin again with a new commitment that will ride them to
financial peace of mind.
Financial success is a consequence of a well lived life, it is so interwoven with all other aspects of
your life, and it may seem removed from finance, yet it is integral, and they all should be
incorporated.

The quiz is to ascertain your current level, which will instantly give you the information you need
to see what your next stage should look like. You will be able to climb through these levels, bit by
bit, by conscious study, and also by utilizing the methods I give in my workshops, the Money Map
and the 7 Components to your Prosperity.

 The Map of Money Consciousness™

 The Map
The Map is a scale that is designed to explain the graduating levels of understanding about how
money works, showing the experience of individuals at each consciousness level.
What determines a position on the scale is a combination of habitual thinking, beliefs, raw
intelligence, and emotional intelligence. When these are combined you can see a developing
financial maturity. For true fulfillment that includes financial ‘harmony’ (beliefs, desires, and
purpose all blend) one needs to have a well defined understanding of human behavior, intra and
inter-relationship competence, economic knowledge,  confidence in self, and inspired action.
The levels in brief:

Level One        Blame/Despair/Apathy
They find their selves in poverty, unemployed or meagerly employed, and have the world view of
a victim on the stage of life.
Level Two        Fear/Anxiety
They are more aware of their situation and have an idea that they ‘should’ be able to do better, yet
they have fear of the unknown,  fear of taking chances and anxiety over change.
Level Three  Desire/Craving
At this level people are moving beyond apathy and debilitating fear, so desires naturally spring
up. Instead of deadening the desires or withdrawing away from them, they welcome them into
their awareness.
Level Four     Anger/Aggression
At this level there is a dramatic change for they are becoming more aware of the part they play in
their own life. At this level anger shows up and it is the anger that gives them the energy to change
their situation. The apathy is gone.
Level Five      Courage/Optimism
There is relief here. There is great hope and a feeling of inspiration. Budgeting is mastered. Better
employment, a retirement plan, and a healthy curiosity about how money works have become
part of the fabric of their lives.
Level Six        Satisfaction/Trust
At this level people are understandably satisfied. They are learning how to build financial
security, maximize their earnings through saving and investing and building good credit. They
are careful with purchases and investments.
Level Seven   Acceptance/Forgiveness/Giving
Now we are beginning to move on the downside of the bell curve. The people that have risen to
this level are discovering how the economy really works.
Level Eight    Wisdom/Abstraction/Reason
Wisdom is knowledge that is internalized and becomes a part of you. It becomes innate. When
this is developed on the subject of economics, one can successfully run scenarios of financial
undertakings through his or her head, playing the “What will happen if…”game.
Level Nine        Self-Actualization
One now understands the deeper meanings surrounding money, and how emotions play such an
integral role in one’s experience with it. A person at this level has mastered the emotional side of
money.
Level Ten         Illumination
Money becomes a natural means to support one’s purpose. As this person goes out into the world
money isn’t a focus at all. People flock to support this type of person because of what they
represent; hope, knowledge, and inspiration.

Of course, most of you who are reading this will fall somewhere in the middle. Just getting to 6 or
7 is a real accomplishment. Having a map can show you where you might want to go. If you want
to go to the next level, hang out with others that are on that one.
